What is the Investor Program for Bulgaria?
The Investor Program for Residence and Citizenship in Bulgaria was established in 2009, to provide permanent residency or citizenship of Bulgaria to investors and their families.
What are the conditions of application for the Investor Program?
The Investor Program for Residence and Citizenship includes different investment options with following requirements;
Full Investment:
In case that an investor chooses this option he/she shall deposit BGN 1 million (€511,292 EUR) in a Governmental Bond Portfolio for an investment period of five years, with no further payment required. At the end of this period, the full investment amount will be returned to the investor. First it is granted permanent residence and citizenship is obtained after 5 years.
Financed Investment:
Investors choosing this option shall pay a reduced amount that will be used in order to finance a BGN 1 million (€511,292 EUR) closed 5.5-year loan from a Bulgarian chartered bank.
Fast Track Investment:
This option enables investors to apply for citizenship faster by doubling their investment. Investors are bringing to the amount of investment doubled, it is 2.5 years at the end to win the Bulgarian citizenship.
How long does the process take?
Application process for permanent residency takes six to nine months and for citizenship two to five years depending on the amount and preferred option of the investment.
